We have capped off a mountain-sized fundraiser by handing over a cheque for £3,000 to Paces, a local support centre for children with Cerebral Palsy and other motor disorders.
All money donated by our staff will benefit the New Home for Paces appeal that aims to raise £1 million to build a new facility for the High Green-based organisation.
We also funded family law partner, Lucy Rodgers’, bid to scale Kilimanjaro with Paces chief executive, Spencer Pitfield. They ascended the tallest mountain in Africa in seven days, braving extreme cold and altitude sickness, to raise awareness and funds for the campaign.
Led by our clinical negligence team, in particular solicitor, Corinna Lincoln, fundraising has included two pub quizzes, a greyhound race night and bake sales throughout the year. In May, a cycling challenge was organised that saw 19 staff pit their fitness against the University of Sheffield’s legal department and Mercure St. Paul’s gym and spa, to see how many times they could cover the height of Kilimanjaro in one day. It was won by St Paul’s.
We are very proud to be handing over £3,000 to Paces, after an action-packed year of fundraising. Thanks to everyone who has given their time and hard-earned cash so generously, especially Lucy who quite literally went above and beyond the call of duty!
