Sound Support for New Social Group

We are helping to launch a new networking and social group aimed exclusively at the local music industry.

Taylor&Emmet is one of three sponsors backing Sound City Social, a free event to benefit people working professionally in all aspects of the region’s music scene.

Held at Ambulo in Sheffield city centre’s Millennium Gallery on November 21, the evening initiative will begin with a question and answer discussion with a panel of music industry professionals, hosted by BBC Introducing producer, Adam Winch-Furness.

The organisers have lined up a number of expert panellists, including tour manager, Laura McClure of the Reverend and the Makers and Emily Moxon of Brownswood Recordings. There is then an opportunity to network to the sound of local artist and DJ Tom J Newell.

John Tunnard, one of our experts in media law, said: “We have a thriving and vibrant local music industry and establishing a close network of contacts is vital to all those forging careers within it. We believe that Sound City Social will bring economic and creative benefits for everyone involved, with the opportunity to both learn something and socialise with peers and likeminded individuals.”

Our dedicated music and media law team offers a highly specialised service to artists, managers, producers and others in the creative industries. We provide advice on a range of issues, from band agreements and record deals to intellectual property. Click here to find out more.
