As the summer months approach lots of people attend amusement parks and theme parks. They are a great source of entertainment and can provide plenty of happy memories.

When you attend an amusement/theme park the owners have a responsibility to ensure that the park or venue is safe for visitors and employees. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring: –
- Rides are well maintained and in good working order
- Rides have the correct safety equipment i.e., straps and bars to prevent people from falling out
- Staff are fully trained
- Correct signage is in place to prevent people from going into unauthorised areas
- Gates and fences are in place to prevent people crossing the path of rides
- The flooring is maintained and is free of debris or potholes to prevent slipping/tripping incidents
When accidents occur, it is important to gather as much evidence as possible. Whilst it is probably the last things on your mind, if you take photographs/videos and obtain the details of any witnesses this can really help prove any claim. As a minimum, you should report the accident and if possible, obtain a copy of the accident report.
