Case of the Week number 6 relates to a lady in her 40s who had an accident at work. She went out of the back door to take out the refuse and walked down a flight of approximately five concrete steps when, without warning, a large security light came on and blinded her.
This caused her to lose her balance and fall down the stairs. She suffered with torn ligaments in her ankle, a sprain to her wrist and bruised knees which she took six months to recover from. Liability was accepted by the defendant and we negotiated a settlement of £3,250.00 for the client.
