Jonathan Stittle has recently settled an injury claim for a man in his late teens who was involved in a road traffic accident. Our client was a passenger in a car driven by a male friend who lost control and hit the kerb, causing the car to roll over. Luckily, our client’s injuries were fairly minor, being a painful neck that took 4 months to heal, although he had to take time off work.
An unusual feature of this case was that his friend’s insurers were apparently not aware that the accident had occurred, and had difficulty communicating with the driver. We had to supply the insurance company with far more detail than we usually would, including information from the police regarding the accident. The insurers were also slow to make a settlement offer, so we started court proceedings which led to a settlement of £2600.
