We took instructions before Christmas from a client and her young son who reported suffering significant symptoms as a result of their potentially being poisoned by a material which had been applied to rooftops nearby to their home.
The material, which is very toxic, appears to have seeped into their property through the window frames, which were rotten.
At this stage, we are investigating who might be responsible for the injuries, as there was significant involvement in the application of the toxic material by several companies, and the local authority which arranged for the works to take place.
Our investigations are in the early stages, but, due to the fast approaching limitation date (by which Court proceedings have to be started or the right to bring a claim expires) we have issued proceedings in the County Court to protect the claim, and to give us more time to investigate. We are liaising with six insurers and Solicitors on behalf of the various potential Defendants, and hope to receive an admission of liability soon.
This is a very complicated case, due to both the nature of the case and the number of potential Defendants. It requires skilled analysis by an experienced Solicitor to consider which Defendants to pursue.
We will always try to assist a client, even when we are close to the limitation date and there is significant investigation needed. We have experienced and skilled Solicitors who will not shy away from a potentially difficult claim and will fight for our clients’ interests no matter how tough the case.
