Jonathan Stittle recently settled a “whiplash” claim for the unusually high amount of £60,000. The client in question was the front seat passenger in a car which was hit from behind at considerable speed whilst stationary in a queue of traffic at a set of lights.
The client suffered injuries to their neck and back. Whereas the recovery period for these type of injuries is typically 6 to 12 months, in this case the accident exacerbated pre-existing injuries, caused significant levels of disability and our client still hasn’t made a full recovery, but happily is gradually improving.
After obtaining medical reports from 3 different consultants, the claim has recently been settled. Whilst this is a very unusual case, it clearly demonstrates how each case is valued according to its own individual features and specific injuries, such as here when those injuries affected our client’s ability to work and produced a higher level of disability than is normally the case.
