Leading Sheffield City Region law firm Taylor Emmet has revealed some of the most unique personal injury claims, including an accident involving a novelty dog, a pantomime witch and wedding day food poisoning.

Oh no, she didn’t!
Our client was performing in a panto playing the wicked witch. Unfortunately, she fell whilst descending broken steps and broke her leg. The audience cheered as they thought it was part of the production. This was potentially the last time the phrase ‘break a leg’ was ever used in that performing company.
Henry the Hound dog
We were involved in litigation for a client who was at a theme park when they were pushed over by a member of staff dressed as ‘Henry the Hound dog’.
Wedding day food poisoning
Spare a thought for most of the guests at a wedding who was struck down with food poisoning caused by the poor preparation of the wedding breakfast.
A swimming lesson gone wrong
We are acting for two children who were electrocuted while showering at their local leisure centre after their swimming lesson. This was caused by a power surge in the cables that ran underneath the building. We also act for the brother of one of the claimants as he witnessed the accident and has experienced a psychological reaction.
Man v pigs
My client was engaged at a pig farm and was instructed to open a gate holding a pen full of pigs to move them to a different part of the farm. As he opened the gate, a few of the pigs, anxious to get out, pushed at the entrance and knocked him over, causing a broken arm as he landed.
To add insult to considerable injury, he was run over by approximately 20 pigs. Fortunately, these injuries were less severe, albeit they had little respect for his broken arm.
People v cows and bulls
It is common for cows in fields to attack walkers, particularly those with dogs around calf season. The injuries can be horrendous, from brain injuries to death – although uncommon, they can sadly happen.
