John Green (pictured left) has recently settled a claim for a client we know well who was, like many unlucky citizens, involved in a road traffic accident in May 2016.
Alex Watkinson, another solicitor at this firm (pictured below) was driving to work and was at the front of a queue of stationary traffic waiting for traffic lights to turn green. When they did, he drove forwards into the junction and began to turn right. As he was doing so, his car was struck, with significant force, by another vehicle that had driven through a red light. The driver of the other vehicle initially alleged that the lights were green in her favour and not surprisingly her insurers denied liability.
Fortunately, our client had obtained contact details from two witnesses at the scene who were in cars behind Alex at the lights. We obtained statements from them and after receiving them, the Defendant’s insurer admitted liability.
Mr Watkinson, a specialist in contentious probate law, suffered a back injury which kept him off work, stopped him from being able to play with his young son and carrying out household tasks involving heavy lifting and physical exertion. Rather more upsettingly, he was unable play football for over two months!
To speed up his recovery, we arranged private physiotherapy for Alex and as a result of that treatment, he has made a quick and full recovery from his injuries. 
His claim was resolved quickly as we were able to provide compelling evidence that the Defendant’s version of events was incorrect which highlights the importance of obtaining contact details from witnesses after an accident.
No wonder Alex is smiling in the picture on the right.
