We have recently settled a case for a 30 year old gentleman with a soft tissue injury to his right ankle, who still suffers from minor ongoing symptoms.
The client was climbing on a JCB Loading Shovel in order to clean the windows, but unfortunately slipped due to a defective step on the machine and fell heavily to the ground, sustaining injury.
Liability was initially denied by the employer’s insurers on two counts: the first being that the accident never occurred and the second being that there was nothing defective to the steps on the side of the Loading Shovel.
Court proceedings were commenced and 9 months later, our client accepted a settlement offer before the court hearing for £7500.
The client was extremely grateful to us and Jonathan (pictured) as he knew the prospect of losing was significant, and he wanted to use part of his compensation to pay for training courses to operate different plant and machinery, thereby increasing his income.
