Taylor Emmet staff go the extra mile with their annual Charity Walk

by Eleanor Copeland

Staff at leading law firm, Taylor Emmet, are preparing to take on their annual Charity Office Walk on Friday 7 August, following last year’s successful event which raised over £2,600 for the firm’s charity partners.

This year, 35 employees have signed up to take part in the sponsored challenge, which will support Taylor Emmet’s 2026 charity partners: Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity, Support Dogs, Ashgate Hospice and Work Ltd. The four charities were chosen through an internal firm vote, reflecting the firm’s continued commitment to supporting causes that make a positive difference across South Yorkshire and Derbyshire.

The sponsored walk will connect Taylor Emmet’s five office locations, beginning at their newly opened Rotherham office before passing through the firm’s two Sheffield offices, continuing to Dronfield and finishing at their Bakewell office in the Peak District. Covering a total distance of 47 kilometres, participants can choose to walk 5 km, 10 km, 15 km, 22 km or take on the full route. The event is designed to be flexible, allowing colleagues to take part in whatever way they can.

Alongside the annual walk, the firm supports charities throughout the year through a range of fundraising initiatives, including charity golf days, Dog and Doughnut Days, family fun days and paid Volunteer Days, which allow employees to volunteer for a charity of their choice each year. Earlier this July, the firm also launched TE Charity Assist, a new specialist service providing legal support to charities and third-sector organisations throughout every stage of the legacy journey.

Mike Robinson, Associate Director at Taylor Emmet, said: “We’re looking forward to bringing our colleagues together once again for our annual Charity Office Walk, all while supporting four fantastic charities that make a big difference in our local communities. Every year the event is a brilliant opportunity for everyone across the firm to get involved, challenge themselves and raise money for causes that mean so much to us all.

“Supporting charities has always been an important part of our culture at Taylor Emmet, and we’re grateful for every donation that helps us make a positive impact. Whether you’re walking part of the route or cheering us on along the way, every contribution makes a huge difference.”
