Remember A Charity Week (7 to 13 September 2026) celebrates the power and impact of legacy giving and the lasting difference gifts in Wills can make.
Throughout the week, we’re shining a light on some of the charities making a real difference in our communities and beyond, including Support Dogs, and exploring the vital role gifts in Wills play in helping them continue their work for future generations.
The work of Support Dogs
Support Dogs is a UK charity that trains and provides specialist assistance dogs to help autistic children and adults living with epilepsy, and physical disabilities. These remarkable dogs bring safety, independence, calm and confidence to people’s everyday lives – totally free of charge to the families who need them most.
The impact of gifts in Wills
Viki Seithel, Legacy and Relationships Officer at Support Dogs, says: “One in three Support Dogs wouldn’t exist without the generosity of people who remembered the charity in their Wills. Gifts left in Wills provide long term, reliable support for the training and care of these life changing dogs.
Leaving a gift in your Will is a beautiful way to continue your compassion into the future. It’s a legacy of safety, independence and joy that keeps on giving, helping individuals and whole families for years to come.”
Natasha’s decision to give back
Natasha knows better than most what a Support Dog can make possible. Her partnership with Giles has developed over the years, with his support contributing to her independence, confidence and everyday life.
Having experienced the impact of Support Dogs first hand, Natasha has decided to leave a gift to the charity in her Will. Her decision is a powerful reminder that the impact of their work does not end with the dog they train today. For Natasha, leaving a gift in her Will is her way of saying thank you, while also helping to ensure that someone else can experience the same life changing support she has received.
