Leading independent Sheffield City Region law firm Taylor Emmet has supported local charity Work Ltd as it expands into a new premises in Sheffield.

The charity is set to move into a base at 4 Hutcliffe Wood Road, which will be be used as a shop and a place for providing life skills and occupational training for adults with learning disabilities. The site will be an addition to Work Ltd’s current home in Bents Green.

Led by Senior Associate Richard Whiteley, the firm’s commercial property team acted as legal advisors to check and advise Work Ltd on the landlord’s legal title, and settle the terms of the lease on the charity’s behalf.

Work Ltd was set up in 1995 to provide opportunities for people with learning disabilities to develop life skills, build confidence and cultivate self-esteem.

The charity’s hands-on work projects are available to adults aged sixteen years and over. Students can participate in a variety of activities including woodwork, gardening, textiles, arts and crafts, nature walks, sports, dance, music and drama.

Taylor Emmet worked with the landlord of the site to complete the legalities promptly, allowing the fit-out to start promptly.
