Paul Fouad acted for an elderly lady and her family regarding mismanagement of her medication by a care home. On admission to the care home in Sheffield, there was a failure to continue administering glaucoma drops.
Over several months, very sadly, the lady’s sight deteriorated so significantly that she was registered blind.
Expert evidence concluded that there had been an acceleration of the lady’s symptoms by 5 years and she would unfortunately never improve.
Solicitors for the care home swiftly admitted liability. Settlement of the claim was eventually approved by the County Court in Sheffield due to the Claimant lacking capacity. The court approved damages in the sum of £90,000.
