Taylor Emmet is delighted to have supported local entrepreneurs, Gavin and Hannah Grainger in their bold expansion plans for Bottle & Thyme bar and restaurant.

Chesterfield entrepreneurs, Gavin and Hannah are committed to the regeneration of Chesterfield town centre and the opportunities it presents.  As successful business owners, they opened the hugely popular Bottle & Thyme bar and restaurant, on Knifesmithgate, in 2017.

Bottle & Thyme has established itself as an independent family-run business with a team of committed staff, who are passionate about what they do and serve.  Gavin and Hannah’s love for quality, tasty, and honest food and drink in a relaxed, inclusive, and happy environment drives what they do every day.

The venue has grown in popularity over the years and is devoted to using locally sourced, sustainable, and ethical produce.  All dishes are prepared daily, made with fresh ingredients and all homemade from scratch every day.

As part of the business’ bold expansion plans, it has recently accepted the grant of a new lease of vibrant, modern premises at the Elder Way development – the historic home of the Chesterfield Co-operative Society.  Gavin and Hannah completed an exciting fit-out of the unit, with an ambitious vision to create a boho-meets-industrial themed venue for the service of coffee, tea, beers, cocktails, and an exciting variety of food.

Whilst they will move the Bottle & Thyme brand to the new unit to take advantage of the opportunities on offer, they remain committed to the original bar and restaurant they has built-up over the last seven years.  Gavin completed a renewal lease of the premises at Knifesmithsgate and shall look to create a new bespoke venue that will complement the adjacent Bottle & Thyme.

Gavin says: “Chesterfield is a vibrant home for Bottle & Thyme and the continued development and promotion of the town centre makes it an exciting place to be.  The success of Bottle & Thyme over the prior seven years is down to the loyal, friendly customer-base we have drawn from the town and beyond.  It was important to us that we were able to find an exciting new venue to expand the business, whilst remaining committed to the roots from which we have grown.

Works on the new venue are complete and it opened on 31 August 2024.  Bottle & Thyme can be visited at Elder Way, in Chesterfield town centre, with the original venue at 15-17 Knifesmithgate, Chesterfield due to open soon, under the guise of an exciting new neighborhood bar.
