by Taylor Emmet

Leading Yorkshire law firm Taylor Emmet has been awarded the Bronze accreditation from Investors in the Environment for its commitment to improving its environmental practices.

The firm, which has five offices across the Sheffield City Region, has been recognised for achieving a 73 per cent reduction in paper usage, whilst putting plans in place to ensure 50 per cent of waste at every office is recycled, along with a 10 per cent reduction in electricity and water usage.

Taylor Emmet has implemented water and energy conservation techniques, including the rollout of LED lighting and PIR sensors across the firm’s six offices. A+++ rated dishwashers have been installed to reduce water waste, and eco filters are being trialled.

Lee Stacey, Facilities Manager at Taylor Emmet, said: “Taylor Emmet strives to make a difference to the people and businesses within the communities in which we operate. Becoming a leader within the legal industry for operating greener practices is part of this mission.

“Now more than ever, it is so important that we change our habits and work together for a greener environment for everyone to live and work in. Our collective changes will help benefit our employees, clients, community and the planet.”

Taylor Emmet will be working towards Silver accreditation by May 2023 and Green accreditation by May 2024.

Investors in the Environment is a national and environmental accreditation scheme designed to help organisations save time and money, reduce their impact on the environment, and get recognition for their progress.
