Tom is a solicitor in our Corporate, Commercial and Insolvency team.
He deals with a variety of corporate and commercial matters, including sales and purchases of businesses, MBOs/MBIs, partnerships, shareholder agreements and partnership agreements, along with general corporate finance matters. He also advises both businesses and individuals in respect of terms of business and other contractual issues.
Particular experience includes assisting in the acquisition of a professional services firm by a competitor, the sale of two members of the same group to different buyers, and the management buy-out of a manufacturing business.
On the insolvency side, Tom has experience of dealing with the sale and purchase of distressed businesses, as well as advising directors of their responsibilities under both the Companies Act 2006 and the Insolvency Act 1986.
Tom read Law at the University of Durham and obtained his LPC at the University of Sheffield. He qualified as a solicitor at a local firm before joining Taylor&Emmet in October 2018.
