Taylor&Emmet Bags Regional Awards Hat-Trick

Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP is in the running for a record number of Yorkshire Legal Awards this year, after making the shortlist in three categories.

The firm is among the finalists for the private client, family law and residential property awards, competing against an elite field of solicitors from across the region.

Representatives from all three Taylor&Emmet teams will be attending a special black tie ceremony on October 11, held at New Dock Hall in Leeds, at which the winners will be announced.

Taylor&Emmet expert speaks up for whiplash victims

A personal injury specialist from Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP is lobbying local MPs to highlight the impact proposed reforms to whiplash claims will have on their constituents.

Associate solicitor, John Green, has so far met with three Sheffield and North Derbyshire MPs to discuss the government’s plans to reduce legal support for road accident victims.

John’s first meeting was with independent representative for Sheffield Hallam, Jared O’Mara and he has subsequently sat down with Labour’s Sheffield Heeley MP, Louise Haigh and Conservative, Lee Rowley, who speaks for North East Derbyshire.

Taylor&Emmet poll reveals dismay at injury reforms

Taylor&Emmet LLP’s Twitter followers have shown resounding opposition to the government’s plans to reduce the legal support available for victims of road traffic accidents.

The Sheffield solicitors have run a series of online polls concerning the proposed Civil Liability Bill, which is attempting to remove whiplash claims from the current costs regime.

When asked if they were aware of the reforms, only 17% of Taylor&Emmet’s Twitter followers indicated their knowledge of and support for the government’s actions. The majority (66%) were opposed to the proposals, the remaining 17% were unaware of the bill.

Taylor&Emmet team turns out for Dronfield 10k

Sporty staff from local solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP, braved the heatwave to join Dronfield’s dedicated running community at the town’s annual 10k race.

The firm was not only the event’s main sponsor, but also entered a team of four, who all achieved times of less than one hour, despite the high temperatures.

Having been postponed earlier in the year due to snow, the Taylor&Emmet Dronfield 10k attracted 700 runners from across the area. The male and female races were won by Philip Hoole and Jane Batty, in times of 34:30 and 41:22 respectively.

Taylor&Emmet appoints trio of trainees

Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP is to launch the careers of three fledgling solicitors, after whittling down a field of more than 50 applicants.

Two of the three new starters will begin their contracts with the firm on September 3, whilst the third will start a year later.

Sabrina Raham and Laura Hardy are the first to join Taylor&Emmet’s trainee programme. They will complete four six-month seats in various departments, before deciding upon a specialism. Martha O’Toole’s contract will commence on September 2 2019.
