This comes after concerns were raised about the deaths of 11 patients following a transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).<\/h4>\n<h3>What is a Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI)<\/h3>\n<p>A Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) is a minimally invasive procedure to replace a damaged aortic valve. According to NHS guidance the procedure usually more suitable for patients who are too frail or are too high-risk to have a conventional valve replacement.<\/p>\n<h3>Concerns of Care<\/h3>\n<p>The BBC have reported, in their recent article, that several concerns were reported by the hospital staff to the hospital management. This resulted in the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) assessing the cardiology department at Castle Hill Hospital including two patient deaths following a TAVI procedure. The RCP concluded that one patient\u2019s care was \u201cgraded poor\u201d and \u201cunfortunately resulted in an avoidable vascular complication\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The BBC also highlighted that seven cardiac consultants expressed that they were \u201cvery concerned about the safety and transparency of the TAVI service\u201d in a letter to the hospital\u2019s chief executive.<\/p>\n<p>Our thoughts are with the families who have lost their loved ones, and anyone affected by these events.<\/p>\n<p>If you or your family member think you may have suffered clinical negligence from a TAVI procedure, you may be entitled to compensation.<\/p>\n<p>We are experienced clinical negligence solicitors who are determined to support those affected.
