Untypically, John Green settled a case for a young man who suffered a painful injury on a five-a-side football pitch which was not due to either of these causes. The surface of the pitch was laid with\u00a0what is known as artificial\u00a04G turf. Unfortunately for our client, part of the turf was damaged and\u00a0torn and, as he went to make a tackle, his foot went under the tear in the pitch surface and he suffered a nasty twisting injury to his knee.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003a7a; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>The Case<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Liability was denied by the insurance company for the owners of the football pitch.<\/p>\n<p>Undeterred, we arranged a report from a highly regarded knee surgeon as well as an MRI scan to try to ascertain the cause of the client\u2019s ongoing symptoms and an accurate prognosis.<\/p>\n<p>Once the medical report was obtained we\u00a0commenced Court proceedings. Almost immediately the Solicitors instructed by the insurers changed their position and\u00a0admitted liability.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003a7a;\"><strong>The Outcome<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We recovered a very reasonable sum by way of settlement for our client and were delighted that, following intensive physiotherapy, he is now back playing football.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003a7a; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Injured passenger<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>James Shirtliff was\u00a0recently instructed by a young man who was\u00a0a passenger in a car which collided with the vehicle in front, entirely as a result of the driver&#8217;s poor judgement.
