Jonathan Stittle recently settled a “whiplash” claim\u00a0for the unusually high amount\u00a0of \u00a360,000. The client in question was the front seat passenger in a car which was hit from behind at considerable speed whilst stationary in a queue of traffic at a set of lights.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0client suffered injuries to\u00a0their neck and back. Whereas the recovery period for these type of injuries is typically 6 to 12 months, in this case the accident exacerbated pre-existing injuries, caused significant levels\u00a0of disability\u00a0and our client still hasn’t made a full recovery, but happily\u00a0is\u00a0gradually improving.<\/p>\n

After obtaining medical reports from 3 different\u00a0consultants, the claim has recently been settled. Whilst this is a very unusual case, it clearly demonstrates how each case is valued\u00a0according to\u00a0its own individual features and specific injuries, such as here when those injuries affected our client’s ability to work and produced a higher level of disability than is normally the case.<\/p>\n
