There is substantial damage to both vehicles and all the occupants suffer with neck and\/or back pain and other injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The passengers are not to blame for the accident and are entitled to bring claims for compensation against the driver responsible for the accident even if that person is a close relative or friend.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What will happen?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As there has been damage to the vehicle in which the passenger was travelling, the driver will almost certainly lose his or her no-claims-bonus as their insurers will be paying for repairs to one or both vehicles and paying the claims from the driver and\/or passengers in the car in front. A further claim from the driver\u2019s passengers won\u2019t make any difference to the insurance situation.<\/p>\n<p>A hyperextension or \u201cwhiplash\u201d injury to your neck and\/or back can be very painful and lead to weeks or months of pain, discomfort, interrupted sleep and taking painkillers. Some people lose wages if they are unable to work after such accidents and some take a year or more to recover from their injuries.
