Employers have a duty to ensure employees are as safe as possible at work Examples of protective methods employers can use include the use of goggles, screens and face shields and most importantly, training on how to use equipment safely for all staff who are required to use it.<\/p>\n<p>Loss of sight can also result from a traumatic brain injury. Cuts and scratches and bright lights, including lasers and the exposure to sunlight can also cause a loss of sight.<\/p>\n<p>Sight being one of our most important senses, means that eye injuries are potentially life-changing and any compensation that you receive will reflect this.<\/p>\n<p>Compensation will also cover the pain and suffering that you have suffered and other financial losses, such as loss of earnings, both following the accident and in the future,, any potential loss of pension caused by your inability to work, travel expenses and any additional care that you have had, and may need in the future. You may require alterations to your home, or a completely different place to live, which is more suitable for your needs. This is not an exhaustive list, and if you can prove another loss linked to the injury then you should be able to recover it, within reason.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #003a7a;\">Is there a time limit to making a claim for loss of sight?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If you are over the age of 18, then there is a 3-year time limit from the date of the accident to bring the claim.
