Jonathan Stittle (pictured), has just settled a case for a lady in her 20’s who was injured in her\u00a0local supermarket. Spilled liquid on the floor hadn’t been cleaned up, causing her to slip and injure her knees,\u00a0 ankle and hand.<\/p>\n

Initially the supermarket denied liability, claiming both\u00a0that they had a reasonable inspection system in place, and had no record of the accident.<\/p>\n

However, our resourceful client was able to prove that she\u00a0had\u00a0<\/strong>reported the accident to the assistant manager of the store & had also been to her GP on the day of the accident.<\/p>\n

Eventually, the supermarket’s insurers admitted liability, paving the way for our client to receive compensation of \u00a32700.<\/p>\n

The lesson to be learned from this case is that it is important to keep careful records of your discussions with organisations when you report injuries to them. A photo of the accident form or the person you speak to taken on your mobile phone will usually be enough.<\/p>\n
