Case of the Week #14

ellieb_2015Words by Eleanor Buckley

We have recently settled a claim for a gentleman who was employed by a  Housing Association as a handyman. On one particular day, he was asked to enter the store room to obtain furniture for a newly furbished flat.

The store room was poorly stocked and furniture was stacked high.

As he went to remove some of the furniture, the stack collapsed and he was trapped under it for over an hour until the Emergency services arrived.

Liability was eventually admitted. We arranged the appropriate treatment for both his physical and psychological injuries and he received damages of £15,600.00.
