TAYLOR&EMMET DINES WITH PAST AND PRESENT PRESIDENTS

Solicitors from leading Sheffield firm, Taylor&Emmet LLP, will be out in force at this year’s Law Society annual dinner in support of their colleague and reigning president, Paul Clarke.

In total, 35 key members of Taylor&Emmet’s team will be attending the Sheffield and District Law Society annual dinner, including former president and senior partner, Peter Blower.

Mr Blower, who retired in 2008 after 37 years at Taylor&Emmet, held the office of local Law Society president from April 2004-2005. He was one of Sheffield’s most prominent residential conveyancers and still enjoys strong links with the firm.

Colleagues from across all departments will be on hand at the dinner to show their appreciation of the work commercial litigator, Paul Clarke, has done for Taylor&Emmet and the city’s legal community during his year as Law Society president. Held at Sheffield’s Cutlers Hall, the annual event will be one of Paul’s final official engagements before his tenure comes to an end in April.

Anthony Long, Taylor&Emmet’s chief executive, said: “To boast two Sheffield and District Law Society presidents in the last decade is a great honour for the firm and I am very pleased Peter will be attending the dinner with us to celebrate Paul’s year in office. The last 12 months have been extraordinarily challenging for the profession, yet the effort and dedication Paul has put into his presidency have been outstanding. We are very proud of the contribution he has made to the local legal community and the legacy he is leaving his successor.”

Paul Clarke joined Taylor&Emmet in April last year. He is a specialist in commercial contract disputes, acting mainly for local manufacturing businesses and clients in the retail sector and is a long-standing supporter of Sheffield and District Law Society.
