TAYLOR&EMMET WELCOMES STAR'S ANTI-ABUSE ADVERT Family law experts at Taylor&Emmet hopes the campaign, which stars Keira Knightly as a victim of domestic abuse, will prompt more women to seek help from services such as its helpline. The firm operates a phone number 0114 218 4040 dedicated to providing victims of domestic abuse with quick and accessible legal advice. Taylor&Emmet also offers free initial appointments at its Arundel Gate headquarters, to help local people gain essential support in emergency situations. Leigh Green, one of Taylor&Emmet’s specialists in domestic violence, said: “We really hope that the support of such a high profile celebrity will open up greater discussion about the prevalence of domestic abuse in our society and encourage more victims to seek out local services like our helpline.” The advert featuring Keira Knightly is being screened in cinemas showing films of a 15 certificate or more and after the watershed on television. It has been produced by Women’s Aid who report two women a week die from domestic violence and the police receive a phone call related to subject the every minute. Leigh added: “Whilst the figures Women’s Aid quotes are shocking enough, we actually believe the number of incidents of domestic abuse to be much greater, as many go unreported because of fears for children or financial circumstances. We want to reassure people suffering at the hands of violent partners that help is available locally from experts who endeavour to protect the victim and their family.” Taylor&Emmet’s helpline is available between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
