TAYLOR&EMMET TRIO PROVE THEY CAN WALK THE WALK Family experts from leading Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP, have put their best feet forward to raise £1,000 for breast cancer charities. Three of Taylor&Emmet’s family solicitors joined the 17,000 men and women taking part in this year’s Playtex Moonwalk to raise funds for charity, Walk the Walk. Taylor&Emmet’s Michaela Heathcote, Leigh Green and Lucy Hartley attempted the 26.2-mile walk through London at night, which started and finished in Hyde Park and followed the marathon course across the city. Both Michaela and Leigh had taken part in the event before and completed the walk in seven hours 30 minutes. Unfortunately, Lucy had to retire after 10.5 miles after sustaining an injury to her foot. Taylor&Emmet partner, Michaela, said: “The atmosphere at the beginning of the Moonwalk was great there was a real sense of excitement and anticipation. As the night progressed the mood became more sombre, but there was a feeling of camaraderie and determination among the participants, as we willed each other through a difficult night. “I am hugely grateful to the colleagues and friends who supported our efforts and we are extremely pleased to be donating so much money to the charities that benefit from this event.” Last year’s Moonwalk raised £6 million and it is hoped that this figure will be exceeded in 2009. Walk the Walk distributes the funds raised at the Moonwalk among breast cancer causes.
