SEMINAR SUCCESS TAKES TAYLOR&EMMET TO TOP OF CLASS

Local business leaders have given their seal of approval to Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP, whose latest free breakfast seminar proved a resounding success.

Taylor&Emmet’s annual Employment Law Update was attended by HR professionals and directors from a wide variety of sectors, who wanted an update on this year’s key legislative changes.

Feedback from the breakfast seminar, which was held at Sheffield’s Leopold Hotel, was very positive, with Paul McCormack, HR director of Hermes, praising the firm’s “enjoyable sessions” and “useful insights.”

Taylor&Emmet’s employment law experts highlighted current legal developments, including recent redundancy case law, new TUPE 2006 cases and measures that can be taken by organisations to protect frontline staff from harassment.

Nick Leatherland, a business partner at Yorkshire Bank, was quick to convey his feedback to Taylor&Emmet’s employment team, describing them as “excellent speakers with meaningful case studies to back up discussion points.”

David Poddington, Taylor&Emmet’s head of employment law, said: “We were very pleased with the positive reaction we received to this seminar. Attendance was high and a lively discussion with delegates took place on the challenges facing employers, particularly in relation to decisions handed down by the European Court of Justice. Our annual employment law update has now become an established part of the local business calendar and next year, we hope to significantly expand the events we run for Sheffield’s HR community.”
