News release
Leading Sheffield solicitor, Taylor&Emmet LLP, is enhancing the service it offers to legal aid clients, with the appointment of its very first law costs draughtsman. Adrian Hawley joins Taylor&Emmet to help determine the cost of legal aid cases and deal with the volume of work created by the firm’s rapidly growing family department. Taylor&Emmet’s ongoing commitment to legal aid work has made it necessary to employ a law costs draughtsman to put a valuation on cases that are presented to the courts and the Legal Services Commission. Adrian will work most closely with the firm’s family and clinical negligence departments, although he may also be called upon in contentious probate and litigation matters. Adrian worked previously at Zermansky’s in Leeds and prior to that, he spent five years at Wake Smith in Sheffield. He started his career as an insurance broker and went on to practise as a recruitment consultant, before training as a law costs draughtsman. Anthony Long, Taylor&Emmet’s chief executive, said: “In light of the increasingly specialist nature and volume of work generated by our family department, we have reached a point where we need the expertise of an experienced law costs draughtsman. Adrian is highly skilled and we are confident that the sophisticated systems and procedures he will establish will significantly reduce the administrative burden on our fee earners.” Issued: 18.6.2009 |
