TAYLOR&EMMET DONATION BRINGS SOUTHEY FARM FUN
Leading Sheffield solicitor, Taylor&Emmet, has teamed up with a local primary school for some good, old-fashioned fun down on the farm.
Thanks to sponsorship from Taylor&Emmet, pupils from Southey Green Community Primary School were able to visit Whirlow Hall Farm for an overnight stay.
Taylor&Emmet sponsored a total of 21 six and seven year-olds from Southey Green, who visited Whirlow with their carers. The trip enabled the pupils to actively explore the farm and included tours of the pigpens, cow shed and sheep barn, where the children had an opportunity to touch and stroke the animals and collect eggs from the chickens. They also learned about what we eat and where our food comes from.
Hannah Southern, Taylor&Emmet’s HR manager, accompanied the Southey Green pupils on their visit to Whirlow. She said: “It was really interesting to see the children’s faces when they realised what they were eating! Most of them had never spent time on a farm before or had an opportunity to get so close to the animals. It was a real pleasure to see how Taylor&Emmet’s donation was used and what a difference it made to the pupils.”
Whirlow Hall Farm desperately needs more businesses to join its 480 Club. Members donate £480 to the farm, which is used to fund a visit from an inner-city school. For further information visit www.whirlowhallfarm.co.uk
