TAYLOR&EMMET JOINS THE IT CROWD
By Jove they’ve got IT! Staff at Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet, are brushing up on their computer skills, thanks to a new training initiative being run by the firm.
Taylor&Emmet’s entire support team, along with any fee earners wishing to jog their memories, are showing they have the IT skills to match their legal know-how.
Training will cover most of the Microsoft Office programmes and is kicking off with a back-to-basics look at Microsoft Word, which all Taylor&Emmet secretaries, assistants and office staff use on a daily basis. They will have to prove their level of competence with the software and attend refresher sessions depending on their job role.
Taylor&Emmet’s in-house training officer, Jacqui Broughton, is organising and running the IT programme. The classes will enable all staff to stay abreast of developments in the firm’s computer systems and equip them with the technical skills to complete their tasks competently.
Hannah Southern, Taylor&Emmet’s HR manager, said: “It is vital to the success of the firm that our support team functions confidently and efficiently. We recognise that good quality staff are our most important asset and we take great care to ensure employees at all levels don’t get left behind when we make technological developments.
“Taylor&Emmet continues to invest in its internal systems and we are rightly proud of the supportive working environment we have created, which allows employees to maintain and improve their skills base throughout their career at the firm.”
