TAYLOR&EMMET CELEBRATES RECORD LEGAL 500 RESULTS

Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP is proving that its strategy for dealing with the economic downturn is working, after securing its best ever rankings in this year’s The Legal 500.

Taylor&Emmet was recognised as one of the Sheffield firms that are “hot on the heels” of the big names in the Yorkshire region, having been listed in a record 10 areas of the industry bible.

The firm’s employment team was among the second tier rankings in South Yorkshire, with department head, David Poddington, receiving a personal mention for his ability “to build long and lasting client relationships.”

Other recommendations included Tony Wilkinson’s corporate team, which was said to be garnering “enviable regional work” and was described as “helpful, courteous and efficient.” The commercial litigation team was regarded as a “highly professional, outstanding practice,” with department head, Rob Moore, mentioned personally for his contentious insolvency work. Rob Cooke, head of property litigation, was also praised.

Taylor&Emmet was one of only two firms ranked second in North, South and East Yorkshire for its family work, with department head, Pat Lennon, receiving a personal mention, along with the childcare team, which is led by Deborah Thompson. Highlights included advising on an ancillary relief case, in which marital assets incorporated a multi-million pound interest in a public company.

The other personal legal services teams included in the Legal 500 listings were clinical negligence (claimant), personal injury (claimant), professional negligence (claimant) and personal tax, trusts and probate.
