TAYLOR&EMMET EMPLOYS GOOD ADVICE FOR BREAKFAST Leading Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP, is holding a free breakfast seminar to keep local businesses up-to-date with the most important developments in employment law. Taylor&Emmet will be hosting its annual Employment Law Update at Sheffield’s Leopold Hotel on November 12, to highlight the key legislative changes employers need to know. Experts from Taylor&Emmet’s employment law team will be highlighting the most significant legal developments to take place this year and looking forward to changes that can be expected in 2010. There will also be an opportunity for delegates to ask questions and network with fellow attendees. Topics covered at the breakfast seminar will include the new ACAS Code on Discipline and Grievances, the Equality Bill, new rights for agency workers, holiday entitlement and long term sickness absence, recent redundancy case law, how TUPE 2006 is being interpreted and the harassment of staff. David Poddington, Taylor&Emmet’s head of employment law, said: “This year’s global recession has brought employers a unique challenge to balance the needs of staff against those of the business, whilst the pace of change in employment law has barely let up. It is, therefore, essential that local companies are aware of their responsibilities towards employees and that they are prepared for the legal developments coming their way in 2010.” Taylor&Emmet’s Employment Law Update will be held at the Leopold Hotel from 8am to 10am on November 12.
