TAYLOR&EMMET GIVES CYCLISTS GREEN LIGHT
Pedal power is on the rise at leading Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet, as a growing number of employees get on their bikes to travel to work.
Commuting into work by bicycle is becoming increasingly popular among staff at Taylor&Emmet’s city centre headquarters.
In response to the rising number of Taylor&Emmet employees cycling to work from across the city, the firm has introduced secure bike storage for the members of its team who work at the Arundel Gate office.
As part of its environmental policy, Taylor&Emmet is encouraging staff to reduce their carbon footprint and that of the firm, by leaving their cars at home. Promoting the advantages of travelling to work by bicycle also forms part of the firm’s wider commitment to the local legal community’s efforts to raise the profile of green issues.
Anthony Long, Taylor&Emmet’s chief executive, said: “We are committed to reducing the impact we have on Sheffield’s environment and by encouraging staff to bring their bikes to work, we can help reduce the number of vehicles entering the city on a daily basis. I am just one of a growing number of our team who regularly cycles to work and I can confirm that it has fantastic health benefits for the individual, increasing both physical fitness and concentration levels, even during this cold weather!”
