TAYLOR&EMMET MARKS 5,500 HIPS MILESTONE
Leading Sheffield firm of solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP, is celebrating the completion of its 5,500th home information pack (HIP) just 18 months after they were introduced.
Taylor&Emmet’s landmark achievement comes at the same time as new rules are brought in, making a property information questionnaire (PIQ) compulsory in all HIPs.
From April 6, residential properties cannot be offered for sale until a PIQ has been completed. The questionnaire will provide basic information, such as council tax banding and whether any structural alterations have been done. For leasehold properties, it will also include details of the ground rent, service charges and other practicalities.
John Outram, Taylor&Emmet’s HIP expert, said: “We are enormously proud of our achievements in terms of the number of HIPs we have supplied to South Yorkshire residents. The volume of packs we are producing is even more remarkable when put into context against the recent downturn in the property market.
“The introduction of PIQs will add another layer of paperwork to the HIP process, but we are confident that our team’s extensive expertise, local knowledge and considerable experience in producing the first generation HIPs will ensure the new regulations do not impact greatly on our production rates.”
Taylor&Emmet runs its own company dedicated to the production of home information packs HIPS Professional. For further information about its services, or the introduction of property information questionnaires, telephone (0114) 218 4000 or visit www.tayloremmet.co.uk
