TAYLOR&EMMET INVESTS IN YOUNG TALENT

Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet Solicitors is still showing its support for young legal talent, despite the economic downturn, by recruiting two newcomers to the industry.

Taylor&Emmet has appointed recently qualified solicitor, Tom Draper, to its employment department and welcomed trainee, Lucy Garnham, to the firm.

Tom, who qualified as a solicitor in September, joins Taylor&Emmet’s employment team after completing his two-year training contract at the firm. He will be dealing with compromise agreements, unfair dismissals and discrimination claims, as well as drafting, reviewing and updating contracts of employment and staff handbooks.

Trainee, Lucy Garnham, studied International, European and Comparative Law at Sheffield University, where she also completed her Legal Practice Course. She is currently in her first six-month seat with Taylor&Emmet’s personal injury team and will be undertaking similar positions in three other departments, before qualifying as a solicitor.

Anthony Long, Taylor&Emmet’s chief executive, said: “Nurturing young solicitors is key to the ongoing success of Taylor&Emmet. We believe investing in talented individuals at the beginning of their careers is an investment in the future of the firm as a whole. I would like to extend a warm welcome to Lucy and congratulate Tom on his qualification and appointment to our employment team.”
