TAYLOR&EMMET LAUNCHES REDUNDANCY TOOLKIT

Employment law experts at Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet Solicitors are introducing an innovative new package to help local businesses manage redundancy situations.

Taylor&Emmet’s employment law department has developed a ‘Redundancy Toolkit’ to enable organisations to conduct job losses safely and avoid disputes.

The toolkit is aimed at employers who lack experience in handling redundancies and those who are worried that their knowledge of the law in this area may be out of date. It is also suitable for companies that do not wish to design a redundancy process from scratch and would prefer to buy one “off the shelf.”

To ensure proper procedures are followed and that staff are treated fairly, the Taylor&Emmet package includes detailed guidance on how to identify, plan and implement redundancies, standard letters to document the process and a redundancy payment calculator.

As no two businesses are the same, Taylor&Emmet’s Redundancy Toolkit also includes telephone advice from one of the firm’s employment law specialists, who will answer any questions and address points that are unique to the organisation concerned.

In fact, the Office of National Statistics reported that for the three months to the end of August, redundancy levels rose to 147,000 – up 28,000 during the quarter and across the year.
