TAYLOR&EMMET RECRUITS CHILDCARE TRIO
Leading Sheffield solicitor, Taylor&Emmet, is welcoming a further three senior specialists to its childcare team, making it one of the region’s largest.
The talented trio comprises Pat Wotherspoon, Sally Hibbert and Kevin Fullerton, all of whom are well-respected childcare solicitors in South Yorkshire.
As members of the Children Panel, they can advise and represent children, parents, other family members and foster carers through all stages of the legal process. This ranges from the earliest involvement of social workers, to meetings and case conferences, subsequent care or related proceedings and adoption.
Pat Wotherspoon worked previously for Graysons in Sheffield and joined Taylor&Emmet to pursue new challenges. She has more than 25 years experience in her field, spending 10 years working in-house for local authorities across the north of England, before entering private practice in 1991.
Kevin Fullerton also has first hand experience of working for local authorities. He joins Taylor&Emmet from Wake Smith in Sheffield and brings with him more than 20 years expertise in general family law and childcare. He remains committed to the delivery of legal advice to members of the community who can least afford it.
Sally Hibbert has spent the last five years with Wake Smith in Sheffield and joins Taylor&Emmet to be part of the growing childcare department. She specialises in advising families in situations where the local authority is involved, care and supervision proceedings, the discharge of care orders and contact with children in care.
Deborah Thompson, Taylor&Emmet’s head of childcare, said: “We are one of the few firms in South Yorkshire making a commitment to legal aid-based work and actively expanding our childcare team. It is a pleasure to welcome three such accomplished colleagues to the firm and I am looking forward to working with them, to take the department forward and increase our presence in the region.”
