Taylor&Emmet Aids trustees' move to digital campus
Leading Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP, has helped one of the UK’s largest pension scheme administrators secure prestigious city centre office space. Taylor&Emmet’s commercial property experts have completed a lease on Ventana House, part of Sheffield’s flagship Digital Campus, for Coal Pension Trustees Services.
The Sheffield-based trustees currently operate from offices in Hussar Court, in the Hillsborough Barracks complex. They will be joining high profile tenants, Kennedys and Sky at Ventana House on Sheaf Street, after agreeing a lease for brand new ground floor accommodation in the five storey, 32,000 square foot building.
Julian Rowden, a partner in commercial property at Taylor&Emmet, handled the deal. He said: “We are really pleased to have played such an integral role in Coal Pension Trustees’ move to new premises. The relocation represents a significant investment for the group and underlines its commitment to Sheffield. Thanks to its dramatic architecture, Ventana House is already a city centre landmark and the quality of the accommodation on offer secures its place as one of our most desirable office locations.”

This is the second commercial property lease Taylor&Emmet has negotiated on Coal Pension Trustees Services’ behalf, having been involved in the group’s acquisition of new London offices last year. The firm also provides ongoing employment law advice.
Hew Campbell, head of operations at Coal Pension Trustees Services, added: “Following a protracted search for new office premises, we are delighted to secure a lease for the main portion of the ground floor at Ventana House. The property team at Taylor&Emmet, led by Julian Rowden, has made the usually fraught process of reaching an agreement within a tight timeframe and on terms we are happy with, as straightforward and painless as possible. The firm’s clear, timely and sound advice has enabled us to commit to arrangements knowing that all key legal issues have been considered and addressed."
