Taylor&Emmet highlights new agency workers law 18th August 2011
Employment law specialists from leading Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP, are helping local businesses minimise the impact of new legislation affecting agency workers.
Taylor&Emmet’s next quarterly employment law update will focus on the introduction of the Agency Worker Regulations and what they will mean for organisations using casual staff.
This free breakfast seminar will be held at the Leopold Hotel in Sheffield city centre on September 8. It will take a practical look at the changes being made to the rights of UK agency workers, which are being implemented on October 1, and how the effects of these new laws might be mitigated or avoided.
Taylor&Emmet’s experts will also be taking a wider look at the legal differences between employees, agency workers and the self-employed, demonstrating how to identify each category successfully and providing a case law update on worker status issues.
Delegates attending the seminar will receive a free set of guidance notes on the Agency Worker Regulations. There will also be an opportunity to ask the employment team questions and network with fellow attendees.
David Poddington, Taylor&Emmet’s head of employment law, said: “The impact of the Agency Worker Regulations will be felt by all organisations using casual staff, as well as employment agencies and the agency workers themselves. This seminar is a chance for local businesses to ensure they are prepared for the new legislation and can manage its introduction with as little disruption as possible.”
Taylor&Emmet’s free breakfast seminar will run from 8am-10am and will include a continental breakfast. Spaces are strictly limited, so early booking is advised.
