Taylor&Emmet has Christmas spirit wrapped up
The wise men and women at leading Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP, have spread a little early Christmas cheer by coming to work bearing gifts for underprivileged children.
Staff and friends of Taylor&Emmet have donated a total of 28 shoe boxes filled with presents to Operation Christmas Child, run by Christian charity, Samaritan’s Purse.
The firm’s participation in the initiative was spearheaded by family law specialist, Michaela Heathcote, who has been a keen supporter of Operation Christmas Child for a number of years. She acted as Taylor&Emmet’s central collection point and delivery co-ordinator, ensuring each donor bought for either a girl or a boy in one of three age groups and filled their shoe box with appropriate gifts.
Michaela said: “I would like to thank my colleagues and friends of the firm who have taken the time and effort to prepare a shoe box for this wonderful initiative. It is a fantastic cause and great fun for the participant. Each gift collected by Taylor&Emmet will hopefully inject a little cheer into the life of a child who may otherwise have very few reasons to celebrate this Christmas.”
Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest project of its kind. Last year, more than 100,000 people from the UK and Ireland donated gifts and 1.12 million shoe boxes were delivered to children suffering hardship in Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
