Taylor&Emmet earns top marks for ILEX training
Leading Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP, is top of the class when it comes to supporting trainee legal executives.
Taylor&Emmet arranged for a specialist tutor from the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) Training College to visit the firm to help its students prepare for their exams in January.
Law support teacher, Nicola Goodman, ran classes in criminal law and legal research skills at Taylor&Emmet to complement the firm’s internal mentoring sessions and ensure its ILEX students maintain their 100% pass rate in the forthcoming assessments.
Nicola said: “It was a pleasure to visit Taylor&Emmet and meet its talented ILEX students. They showed great understanding and flair for the topics we discussed and proved to be committed, hard working and good at achieving. It is really encouraging to see a firm making such an effort to support its employees in their career development. I am confident these extra sessions will pay real dividends for the individuals and ultimately, the organisation as a whole.”
Taylor&Emmet has seven employees undertaking the ILEX training programme. Two are studying for their professional diploma in law and practice, whilst the other five have gained graduate member status and are working towards a higher diploma to achieve full fellowship.
Hannah Southern, Taylor&Emmet’s HR manager, added: “We are committed to finding new and innovative ways to support the personal and professional development of our employees. This is the first time an ILEX tutor has visited the firm and I would like to thank Nicola for her efforts on our students’ behalf. Feedback from the revision sessions was extremely positive and I’m sure her expertise will make a huge difference to their exam preparations.”
The Institute of Legal Executives is a professional body representing qualified and trainee legal executives. ILEX offers a range of qualifications, beginning with the level three diploma in law and practice.
