Taylor&Emmet Champions Fair Play 20th September 2011
Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP is launching fair play awards to complement its second year as main sponsors of the local football association’s Sunday Challenge Cup competitions.
The awards, which will run throughout the 2011-12 season, aim to promote respect on the football pitch by recognising the players and referees who have led by example.
All of the teams taking part in the Taylor&Emmet Sunday Senior and Junior Challenge Cups will be given a score for fair play and sportsmanship, taken from the club discipline marks. These will be collated by Sheffield and Hallamshire FA after the semi finals in March and the winners will be presented with their prize at the Challenge Cup finals.
The leading local solicitors will also be recognising the efforts of the referees officiating cup competition games, based on the clubs’ post-match reports. Again, the referees with the best performance scores will be presented with prizes at the finals in May next year.
Anthony Long, Taylor&Emmet’s chief executive, said: “We are keen supporters of grassroots football and by promoting sportsmanship on the pitch we hope to highlight the importance of fair play in all areas of life – an ethos that is at the heart of our organisation. We are embarking on our second season of Challenge Cup sponsorship and we wish all of the teams and referees taking part the best of luck.”
As part of its Challenge Cup sponsorship programme, Taylor&Emmet is offering a 10% discount on all legal services to club officials, players and anyone connected with the local Football Association.
