Taylor&Emmet donates mid-year cheque to St Luke's

Leading Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP, is handing over a cheque for almost £10,000 to its annual charity, following six successful months of fundraising.

At the halfway point in its year of support for local hospice, St Luke’s, the dedicated team at Taylor&Emmet has already raised £9,640.30.

To mark St Luke’s 40th anniversary, Taylor&Emmet’s donation was presented by legal assistants, Liz Goodall and Sonia Foster, who share the hospice’s landmark birthday this year, turning 40 in May and October respectively.

Claire Petty, Taylor&Emmet’s marketing co-ordinator, said: “St Luke’s has really captured the hearts and imaginations of everyone at Taylor&Emmet, many of whom have been affected personally by its services. There has been great enthusiasm for the charitable events we have staged to date and we have some exciting activities planned for the rest of the year that will further boost our final total.”

Taylor&Emmet’s employees have swum the equivalent of the English Channel in their lunch breaks to raise money for St Luke’s and flexed their culinary muscles in a Pancake Day sale and Easter cake bake. The firm’s probate team was also a major contributor to the hospice’s Wills Month in March. Activities planned for the rest of the year include a walk to work initiative in August and a Christmas craft fair.

Raising nearly £10,000 in just six months is an incredible achievement and will make a significant difference to the services we provide to local people.
