All's fair for Taylor&Emmet cup teams

For teams competing in this year’s Taylor&Emmet Sunday Senior and Junior Challenge Cups, the season of goodwill appears to extend far beyond the Christmas festivities!

At the midway point in the football calendar, 53 Challenge Cup teams still have a clean disciplinary sheet, making them the top contenders for Taylor&Emmet LLP’s fair play award.

The leading Sheffield solicitors are helping to promote respect on and off the football field by rewarding the players and referees in the Sunday Senior and Junior cups who lead by example.

So far, of the 381 squads competing in the Challenge Cup competitions, 41 junior teams and 12 senior teams still have no penalty points for discipline. This means none of their players have received red or yellow cards during matches and no other sanctions have been brought against them.

Taylor&Emmet’s fair play awards will be determined by Challenge Cup organisers, Sheffield and Hallamshire FA, who will give each club a score based on its disciplinary record after the competitions’ semi-finals in March. The winners in both cup competitions will be presented with prizes at their respective finals, where the top performing referees of the season will also be recognised.
